Come Eat at My Table

(What a Difference a Year Makes)

By Ruth O’Neil

Karin is a woman with a past. About the time she thinks no one will ever know, it comes back to haunt her. The deeper she tries to push it away the more prominently it returns. Forgiveness is a word that isn’t in her vocabulary as far as the people from her past are concerned. She thinks she’s fine until someone from her past shows up unexpectedly forcing her to think about what happened. With the help of her family and other people around her she realizes that she must learn to forgive, even if forgiveness wasn’t asked of her.

Reminiscing is one similarity. Come Eat at My Table is a lot about dealing with your past, even if the reminiscing isn’t so fun.

About the Author

Vicky Kaseorg, describes when she first knew she would become an author: “I used to ride my horse through the neighborhood, though all the neighbors could see was a girl on a blue bicycle. My brain rarely paused in the internal narration of stories. I should have known I would either end up in an institution, or become a writer.”

Kaseorg, born in Pennsylvania in 1956, studied art and writing at Binghamton University, and became a professional artist early in her career. She went on to graduate school at USC Los Angeles where she studied Occupational Therapy. She owned her own Occupational Therapy practice for many years in NY, and with the birth of her prodigiously gifted first son, began homeschooling. She has bicycled across the USA, run a marathon, completed a biathlon, learned to ski at age 50, successfully graduated all three children from homeschool to prestigious universities, yet still feels the most difficult task she has ever had to accomplish “is living a consistent, righteous life before God and my family.”

About the Author

joan-aubeleBorn and raised in Chicago, I now reside in rural Lake Holiday, Illinois, with my husband Carl. We are high school sweethearts, and even though it’s been over thirty-eight years since we said, “I do”, we’ve never gotten out of the honeymoon stage. We’ve raised three daughters, and have four little grandchildren. Several years ago, my oldest daughter treated me to a weekend inspirational, Christian women’s conference. I was truly inspired and dreamt of someday being one of those speakers, to help make a difference in people’s lives. Although spending time with my family remains my number one priority, I am now fulfilling my dream of becoming one of those speakers.

If not writing, I can be found in my craft room. You see, I also sell scarves of my own design to inspire women, and donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. I’m truly addicted to participating in book signing events, craft shows, and the presentations. I LOVE that personal connection – we begin as strangers, and part as friends!
